WEST DENVER COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE
The West Denver Community Leadership Committee (WDCLC) is a collective impact approach positioning members to collaborate and elevate west Denver projects and priorities. Members are active community leaders or staff from neighborhoods and local nonprofit, public, private, or philanthropic organizations. The WDCLC guides WDRC’s workplan initiatives by serving as a direct connection to neighborhoods and/or local organizations.
How WDRC leads WDCLC
WDRC coalesces west Denver leaders, advocates, and organizations to inform broader communication about local developments, affordable housing, policy amendments, events, or meetings relevant to the community.
2.
WDRC and the WDCLC collectively identify west Denver’s greatest neighborhood priorities and advocate for equitable resources, funding, programming, and/or services addressing community needs.
WDCLC Quarterly Meetings
The WDCLC meets up to four times a year to coordinate work plan programs and initiatives, share information, strategize community engagement opportunities, set goals, and expand work group participation. Periodically, WDCLC members will ask for focused topic meetings to review and coordinate on current plans or to coordinate on issues impacting all WDRC neighborhoods (the ‘district’).
WDCLC members participate in working groups focused on top community-identified priorities. Working groups are often neighborhood led and have a direct tie to current needs.
The WDCLC members coordinate with one another on common solutions, opportunities, and challenges faced in their neighborhoods. Efforts the WDCLC has coordinated on for the benefit of west Denver include:
