Mortgage forbearance policies are expected to end on July 31st, 2021. If you are worried that you may not be able to make your mortgage payments now or in the future, reach out to a certified housing counselor. Housing counselors provide free advice and can help you negotiate with your lender and access assistance programs. See below for a list of contact information.
For those who want to stay in their home or neighborhood but are worried about rising housing costs, a community land trust (CLT) can help you stabilize your housing costs and leverage your home equity without taking on more debt. To learn about the Stay in Place Program, click here.

The City and County of Denver offers property tax relief for some homeowners. You may qualify if If you turned 65 or older last year, were disabled all of last year, or own your home and have at least one child who lives with you. Call 720-944-4DHS (4347) or click here to learn more.

How do I find out who my mortgage servicer is?
Read your monthly mortgage billing statement.
Look in your payment coupon book (if you have one).
Call the Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems (MERS) Servicer Identification System toll-free at 888-679-6377 or visit the MERS website.
What happens if I can’t pay a utility bill?
Denver’s Temporary Rental and Utility Assistance (TRUA) program may be able to help cover your costs. See below for more information about how to apply to TRUA.
Denver Water customers who are concerned about being able to pay a bill can contact the Denver Water Customer Care team at 303-893-2444, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Customer Care team can help customers to evaluate options, like payment plans, or connecting the customer with other resources.
